Jacquelyn Fras
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Jacquelyn has been providing mental health counseling since 2013.
She specializes in preschool counseling and play therapy, and is experienced in treating anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma of all types, custody issues, family issues, parenting, and behavioral difficulties.
Jacquelyn works with all ages.
Jacquelyn’s approach recognizes that every person and situation is unique, and treatment paths always depend on the individual.
She often finds her training in polyvagal theory and play therapy effective support for both children and adults. For instance, treating adults for anxiety and depression could call for mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, or polyvagal work, or a combination that is right for the patient.
For children, integrating play therapy is important. She also provides heavy support for parents, teaching them polyvagal and sensory system techniques to help their children regulate.
Holistic healing plays a large role in both her professional and personal life. Jacquelyn understands that mental health is not solely about thoughts and takes a whole brain and body approach. She actively studies many paths to health and enjoys incorporating nutritional and lifestyle work in her sessions, if the client is open to it.
She is her own student first, and does her best to practice what she teaches.
Trust & Safety
Jacquelyn believes trust and good communication are the foundation of any therapist / patient relationship.
When people need guidance working through difficulties with communication, understanding their emotions, and developing tools to appropriately express and work through those emotions, Jacquelyn is here to help them.
More About Jacquelyn
She is a mom, homesteader, spouse, friend, sister and daughter. When she isn’t seeing patients you will find her gardening, building her homestead, hiking, or reading.
Growing up, Jacquelyn saw firsthand mistreatment from the medical system as she observed her mother’s experience with chronic illness. The innate helper inside her wanted to make a difference. She knew there had to be better ways to help people, and she also recognized medical care wasn’t the path for her. She discovered the field of counseling and psychology after an experience with a social worker made an incredible impact on her life.
Helping others find connection, self awareness and peace, helping parents and kids learn to co-regulate, and teaching people about the brain are her passions.
